NJ State Testing Graduation Requirements

State Graduation Testing Requirements 

Juniors: Class of 2018

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in either PARCC ELA 9, 10, or 11
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in either Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II
  • May use the alternate pathways assessments to graduate ( ie., ACT, PSAT, SAT, etc)

     

    Sophomores: Class of 2019

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in either PARCC ELA 9, 10, or 11
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in either Algebra I, Geometry, or Algebra II
  • May use the alternate pathways assessments to graduate ( ie., ACT, PSAT, SAT, etc)

     

    Freshman: Class of 2020

  • Must take PARCC ELA 9, 10 and 11 but pass only one of the three
  • Must  take Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II but pass only one of the three
  • MUST SIT FOR ALL PARCC ASSESSMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL COURSE FOR WHICH THEY ARE ELIGIBLE
  • May use the alternate pathways assessments to graduate ( ie., ACT, PSAT, SAT, etc) ONLY if they took all PARCC assessments associated with their high school ELA and Math classes.
